You Cannot Change History, It is what it is ! The Facts are Facts! I have lived in Richmond Virginia for more than 50 years and have seen the pure garbage that has surfaced. The politically motivated actions have torn the city apart all for making some feel better about themselves or have an excuse to destroy property that doesn't belong to them and demand they be compensated because they are persons of color when in fact that no one alive today has ever been a slave unless they are more than 150 years old you do the math. When you ignore the facts of history believing that blacks were the only slaves in America is absolute ignorance. Did you go to school ? Did you learn American history ? Those who ignore the facts of history and align themselves with fabrications are the problems and ignore the truth. The removal of the statues and the destruction goes to show just how far gone those who want something for nothing have become. Its not about history its all about how much am I going to receive? Excuses are like assholes everyone has one however to base your actions or inactions on events more than a century and a half in the past is absurd. America has acknowledge its mistakes and done its best to rectify its wrongs . It elected a person of color to be its president not once but twice to show that times and actions had changed but that wasn't good enough because the same excuses are still being used today ! What a shame ! Enough is enough with the bullshit and beating the dead horse is completely useless, America has come full circle and that still wasn't good enough. Its extremely clear there are those that will never be satisfied with anything America has offered and to that if you hate it so bad Get Out ! Go somewhere else however keep in mind they will not tolerate the shit you are dishing out. Keep That In Mind When You Exit !

I think you missed the point. The goal isn’t to erase or change history. Asking people to live in a city that has a statue immortalizing a man who stood for slavery is wrong. It seems like you and people who think like you are the problem. Would you want to live in a space where other erected statues that crucified your race? People like you can’t understand the pain that comes from such hate because you never experienced it. It’s interesting that you mention “those who want something for nothing” when the fact is African Americans actually fought for what little they had while the Caucasian Americans actually got something for nothing. Probably shouldn’t pull that thread. You also can’t make the statement that America has acknowledged their mistakes and rectify its wrongs when there are Army bases named after Confederate officers, statues erected of Confederate Officers, etc. You do realize the Confederates were the ones for slavery, right? Seems like you’re ignoring some facts yourself. Also, you stated that America has come full circle, you do realize that means America is now back where we started? For the record, that is not a good thing! It’s easy to sit behind your computer screen and lambast people who have fought for centuries to have a fraction of what you were born with, but it’s amazing that you say
“if you hate it so bad Get Out !” Maybe you should take your own advice. If you’re so afraid of change, positive change, maybe this isn’t the place for you. America is all about various cultures, coming together, blending and accepting, except when it comes to putting it into practice. It’s actually quite despicable to have such views on an extremely important and sensitive topic. You should be ashamed!

SFC Corey Pitt - When blacks were given their freedom, the right thing to do back then would have been to split up the plantation owners land and divide it up between the newly freed slaves, whose generations of family's back breaking work made it what it was. It's horrifying to think that some human beings at the time were afraid of freedom and didn't want to be free because they had nothing to start their new life with. They were so afraid after generations of abuse that they feared having the responsibility for their own life.
