It is only going to get worse in my opinion... We should be manufacturing these in the U.S. as a mainstream product instead of depending on other countries, like China to produce them...

I totally agree, but this is one of those areas where the country's manufacturers went offshore to increase profits. If you or I had the answer to that issue we'd be famous millionaires.

Whatever the future holds, we must have a Rock-Solid posture regarding our friends in Taipei. If push comes to shove we don't want to march into the Big-One chanting "Remember Taiwan". We MUST defend them or ultimately devolve into enslavement.

Our tax code giver incentives to outsource and he American fixation for showing QUARTERLY profits prevents long term actions at the cost of short term profit margins. We have no one to blame but ourselves, Both can be fixed but it take political courage. The former by Change capatorl gains to a sliding scale rewarding long term investments and penalizing "playing" the stock market and the latter by moving to annual reports
