SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - You are absolutely correct, the Taliban run the country now (I see why you're an Intel Analyst wink wink lol)...not my point however. Regardless of who POTUS is, the US should never be put into a position whereby they are dictated to. Especially giving a timeline to a conditions based activity; it's poor statesmanship.

CSM Chuck Stafford - So you're saying that no other country can dictate to us what we do in their country? Are you sure about that stance?
So - say if any European country that we have troops in said "Hey, we don't want you hear, gtfo" that we don't have to listen? Pretty sure it doesn't work that way.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Once again, the analysis is impeccable, but if and will are disparate things. Until such time as our POTUS does something egregious in Europe or elsewhere to warrant being dictated to, this issue is moot.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Interesting how you lead into thinking I was supporting Trump by saying Biden is a pussy. But since you want to bring that to the table, I would really like to hear your thoughts on why you believe Trump is a coward when he did more to stabilize our country and its national security Since Regan and more so how you believe the Biden isn't a pussy when it comes to our national security. Please note if you do wish to engage in this round table, I want facts not hearsay or opinions. Leave emotions out the door and I will be happy to engage with you. However if you are just being a troll move along.

No surprises there. They are now in control of the government. they have foreign troops on their soil that they want out. We either leave or plan on going back to war.
This doesn't make us weak per se. It was the sticking around thinking we could do nation building in this country for almost 20 years that makes us look stupid.
Could we knock the Taliban out of power any time we want? Sure. We know that, they know that, the rest of the world knows that. The question becomes what it always is, what then? Do we stick around for another 20 years and then have them pop back up as soon as we leave? This isn't a question of military strength, we've got that in spades. This is a question of what are the limits of military power, any military.

I have to agree with your sentiment here, we can't help fight for a country that doesn't want to fight for itself, however this does create another vacuum in the middle east, that if and when we pull the trigger I hope it isn't like the slow burn we had for the past 50 years.

CPL Adam Schoenwald - Agreed, that's the danger. A bit of a darned if we do, darned if we don't situation.

I don't necessarily think it make us look weak as we already had a deal to leave in August, but has been extended "gracefully by the Taliban" Obviously this is a pissing contest on their part and a bit of a snub to the eye. The Taliban has already given open door policy to both China and Russia. I do think our current administration however is showing a weak presence on how this is being done. Biden just rolled over on his back and is pissing himself in my opinion. This is a loss no doubt about it, but we can't keep fighting for a region the lives on a history of war, and the world is divided on how this should be done. A lot of bad things are going to happen world wide I fear because of has taken place in the last few days.
