Gina Carano Reveals Details Of First Film Project With The Daily Wire

08 12 21 article: Six months after being fired from the hit Disney Plus series “The Mandalorian” for a social media comment, actress and former Mixed Martial Artist(MMA) Gina Carano is announcing her first project — an action thriller reminiscent of classics like “True Grit,” “Duel,” and “Breakdown.” Screenwriter and veteran horror writer Eric Red (“The Hitcher,” “Near Dark”) is basing the script on his novel “White Knuckle,” Voltage Pictures will handle international distribution.

Ms. Carano said that she’s eager to get moving on the next stage of her career that now includes working behind the camera.

“This has been a year full of so many changes and I am excited to embrace this chapter of my life with The Daily Wire in starting production on our first film,” she said, adding “I am so incredibly grateful...”

Disney fired Gina early in the year for expressing views on social media, that the current U.S. political climate resembled that of Nazi Germany. The Christian called her new partnership with the conservative media company an answer to her prayers, to “develop and produce my own film” and “continuing the quest of telling stories and opening up opportunities for other artists from every walk of life.”

“I cried out and my prayer was answered. I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”
