We roll our diesel pusher often and far. Prefer state and federal lands for solitude, vistas and specifically no cell coverage. Still, we carry CB justincase. Pet peeve - why is our serenity disturbed by people we can't see, constantly chattering about nothing and trying to sound like a 1970s trucker movie?

It’s important to tune your CB to the antennae, and not hard. If your CB has a SWR dial, use that, otherwise buy a small meter (about $30 right now). I use a Workman SWR 2T. Here’s a good how-to: https://www.rightchannelradios.com/blogs/installation-guides/18330687-cb-antenna-tuning-instructions

The radio signal is much more effective with the SWR below 2.
