Gun safety should be taught by the family from an early age. However, if the family lacks the skills, they can't pass them on and professional help is needed. I showed my eldest son a shotgun at an early age and asked him, "Is this firearm loaded?" He responded, "I don't know." Fail! That began the first lesson in gun safety...

Wonder if there will be a rush by "city folk" to get weapons and *skip* all safety training now that it is not required. If that turns out to be the case I would like to leave a prediction: Most accidental discharges, injuries and deaths will be at the hands of those that treat this country with the same disrespect they treat their firearms. (You figure out who I am talking about

My dad was not a gun owner, but he made sure I had an NRA junior gun safety program when I was 12. I trained both my boys in gun safety.
