(07 01 21) Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee said that when Kamala Harris finally made her trip to the border, she should've gone to the Rio Grande, which has twice as many illegal entrants as El Paso. "Why not go look at the traffic coming across the border and find out what the cartels are doing. Go out with some of these local law enforcement or the Border Patrol and see what they’re having to deal with every day. That’s how you get your arms around this issue,” Blackburn said.
She also ripped Harris for bringing Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX), who was caught recently having her staff down in Mexico teaching migrants how to violate U.S. policy to get into the United States.
Senator Blackburn spoke about the cartels having significant power of the border and "are drug trafficking, human trafficking, sex trafficking, bringing gangs into the country. The Border Patrol are overrun now — 183,000 people in the month of May alone — astounding numbers."
The Biden Administration is secretly moving migrant children from the border throughout the interior of the country and the senator said that there are reports coming out of sexual abuse and missing children from different facilities.
"These children have been traumatized by the cartels, and while in federal custody, have been moved to (other) states. They don’t speak the language, they don’t know anyone, they get sexually abused when they’re in these facilities. It is heartbreaking."
Blackburn said that she and fellow Tennesseans U.S. Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN), and Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN) have requested information from HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and the broader Biden administration about the facilities they are operating in their state but have not gotten information back.
