Tend My Garden/Garden Gate - James Gang
Tracks 5 and 6 off of the classic Rides Again...enjoy
Thank you my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown for posting food for thought. I expect that you like me experienced strong thunderstorms this afternoon.
My father was raised as a farmer. He enjoyed the smell of manure as we drove through countryside. He enjoyed working in the garden and I learned from him the pleasures of working with soil, planting, tending and harvesting.

Grateful Dead - Box Of Rain (Philadelphia, PA 7/7/89)
"Box Of Rain's return to the live repertoire in 1986 after a 13 year absence was one of the most welcome re-births of a Dead song. Since its March 20, 1986 r...

LTC Stephen F. Manure’s aroma is not too bad, when you do not have to shovel it!
The three years I lived on a ‘family farm’ when I was 12 to 15 are a dear memory 76 years later. On occasion, I will buy a bag of ‘Chitlings’ and recall how I have seen a hog walk into the barnyard only to be butchered. The Chitlings were a final product to be cooked in the huge kettle where the hog had earlier been scalded in boiling water to soften his bristles for scraping off. Come to think of it, those bristles were the only part of the hog that was not made into food for we farmers! LTC Stephen C. LTC (Join to see) LTC Stephen F. CSM Charles Hayden - Interesting story Chuck. My wife stopped eating lamb chops because she fell in love with the little sheep in Ireland!

I know that experience well. My grandfather had, what was known in Connecticut as, a truck farm. He grew all sorts of vegetables and every morning brought produce to the market in Hartford. I grew up doing all sorts of tasks on the farm and that is still with me.

Couldn’t Agree More Lt Col Charlie Brown! My Nana had a garden and grew vegetables and beautiful flowers! She taught me how to garden and how to cook and bake. I passed those skills on to my daughter and I hope she passes them on to my grandkids! I never used a boxed cake mix until 1997! I always made everything from scratch, just like my Nana!
