As someone who was there yes it happen a week after the base had a mass shooting at the hospital. This should of never happen. Col Bud Holland was a loose cannon who was reckless. There is a great book called "Unheeded Warnings" by Andy Brown that goes into detail what happen at Fairchild. Also there is real videos of the accident not this computer version.

This guy was a recipient of the Curtis E Lemay side of how cowboy buff drivers were rewarded, while sane pilots driving tankers were over looked for promotions. I thought I remembered the hospital shooting at roughly the same time, thanks for verifying my memory. Was a while ago!

I remember this! That buff pilot was an asshole. Loose cannon is hardly the worst or most accurate phrase for him! I thought they had other people on board, not just the flight crew...it was the last flight for a buff leaving Fairchild. After that the base was strictly tankers. I used to work at FAFB. Damn shame this cowboy took those people to their Graves, and he did almost hit our nuke bunkers. Asshole.
