I have had concerns about the leadership in the Afghan Army. A military can not be strong with poor leadership.

Something that sticks out in all this - Sorhab Azimi texted "Back to Faryab".
While he didn't mention Dawlat Abad by name seems there was a lack of OPSEC within this unit. I can only assume others may have mentioned Dawlat in similar texts and T'man got wind.
As to the reinforcement not showing up, their battle plan should have had that contingency worked in. Shit goes sideways how do they exfil if mission is aborted? While it sucks a number of them died hope the commandos learn from this.
As to US Troops not being there again they knew this in working up their battle plan. These guys need to learn how to fight with or without support of auxiliary forces.
