I trust he understood the commitment of serving upon graduation. Hopefully, like others, he can play pro ball after his military commitment.

He has a debt to the United States Navy, He knew full well what was required when he accepted, he made an informed decision - he defers his commitment to the navy to play football, plays 10-12 years, he is now a 34-36 year old Ensign, past the age requirement of Officers entering the service, second, the chance of a career ending injury, one that would disqualify him from service, is higher.

The Navy entered into a good faith agreement with him, the terms and conditions fully spelled out, it's time for him to honor his obligation.
