While he is pushing "universal background checks," is there any indication that the 3 people doing the shooting possessed firearms that were bought without background checks?
I get that the background checks part is being pushed here, but who really cares in this case? How about the fact that 3 dudes just killed some folks? If they weren't concerned about laws regarding murder, do you really think they'll pay attention to getting a background for their Uzi?

Tell ya what --- Universal background checks, BUT the 4473 no longer contains any info on make, model, serial # of the gun.
WHY should the Govt care? John Q. Public wants to buy a gun --- is he qualified?? NUNYA business govt, what specific gun it is he wants to buy.

We're also going to assume that the folks who go and shoot up a banquet hall are going to get a background check before they load up their AK47s and hose the place down.

When I was a kid, all the boys in my class received a 22 rifle on their 12th birthday. When I turned 12, I had already received training and was rewarded for my accomplishments, but no rifle. So, I made one out of a deer antler. It worked and I was walking around with the thing in my belt and no one knew what it was.
