Bjorn Lomborg: Make climate policy in legislatures, not courts

Some interesting thoughts north of the Border.

This is from Canada's Financial post newspaper.
It's interesting that the article notes that the United Nations and not call it an existential threat do this Administration.. Global warming would actually help Canada.

Not doing anything about climate change will lower the gross domestic product by 2.6% by 2100. That means that we will only have 438% growth not 450% growth. That is a very minor difference but Society will suffer especially the poor in the First World countries. They will suffer because of increases in the price of energy artificially done by Progressive people forcing us to try to change our ways from one energy source to another.

I believe that all this money to try to lower the temperature one-half of 1 degrees centigrade is a total waste of energy and money. We are in between ice ages. This is not something out of the movie Deep Impact or Armageddon about a large asteroid coming to hit Earth and destroy it and a planet-killing event like what happened 145 million years ago when the dinosaurs became extinct.
The Western world has done an excellent job in lowering carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emissions. You can't say the same thing about China. China has so much pollution that it often covers North and South Korea. We don't have killer smog alerts like what we had in London in the 1940s and in Southern California in the 1950s. China continues to have that problem and they continue to build about 100 coal-fired power plants worldwide to help poor countries get cheap energy and don't forget that China and India are exempt from climate change compliance for the next 20 years.
