This is a gem of an article for anyone who loves dogs. My Conan is not a retriever, he's an all around breed (French Brittany), but at 40 pounds he's doing good to just get a goose to shore. And he's pretty steady on point, and his work ethic is great even if his training (my fault) is spotty. He's a pretty good dog.

Any active breed such as yours is a pleasure to watch. Border Collies and other working dogs act on a whistle or signal. Same as a bird dog.
