Many folks seem to think the pandemic is over. It is most certainly not! We should take every action possible to help put an end to COVID world-wide, including this if necessary.

Bad idea.
Moderna and Pfizer, which accepted government money, sure. Government has a viable claim to those patents and has at least *some* authority to release those. J&J, however, did NOT accept the money, specifically because they wanted to retain patent and property rights. Government going back now and just voiding that, anyway is not only a slap in the face, it is a great way to make sure no drug company works on something like this again.
