must have been a little drafty to. I've watched videos of hot line crews working towers from a Chopper. I think would have walked up rather than sitting on a platform under a rotor working on 345 K lines hot

Sgt Jim Belanus - I've seen those, as well. They have to connect their conductive clothes to the conductor they ere servicing, to protect themselves.

they have special shoes when they clip in to HVC when working out of a special basket truck as well. The static still give you a tingle. Thankfully, in my time all I had to handle was 7.2 kv which still a tingle when in rubber and touch a piece of metal in the bucket

Sgt Jim Belanus - I've worked with 7KV, but it was DC. TV transmitters can discharge enough energy to fry you. What was real fun, the RCA TTU25 series had water cooled tubes, so the coolant had that 7KV across it, Purity had to be keep quite high to prevent explosions. A high impedance conductivity monitor would shut the transmitter down, if it approached a dangerous level.
