That hybrid athlete can be a challenge. If you run marathons that will inevitably take first place since it will pull heavily from muscle building. That said, the endurance athlete is what will help you remain healthy and live longer since there is no significant advantage to building more muscle than average (except cosmetic) in modern times. My 2021 resolution was to start running again, and its already April and I haven't started yet. I had some painful swelling on the left knee for no apparent reason, so I'm using that for an excuse. I will report back once I've got a month of training under my belt. I lean towards weight training, so my limit will be the 10K. Very informative video btw.

When I was on active duty in the states I ran between eight to ten miles per day (most days) and ran marathons. The whole twenty-six miles plus three hundred eighty five yards. I never came in first place but I finished every one of them! I would love to start running again but ever since my back went out the first time I causes serious pain if I try to run more than a couple hundred yard. Let us know when you get back on you goal of running again LCpl Sidney Green.

Cpl Vic Burk - I will do just that sir. And just in case I forget, I invite everyone here to check back to keep me honest. That spare tire grows exponentially, and becomes more difficult to manage with each passing year. The battle of the bulge continues.

LCpl Sidney Green - Exponentially spare tire. Sooner or later that tire is going to have a blow out! If you don't care I want to share that one with my Algebra students. We just finished a unit that included exponential growth.

Cpl Vic Burk - LOL, I forgot to whom I was replying. You probably formed an image of some guy with an equator size mid-section.
