Never good news when you see this kind of report on military spouses, however I must also mention that that they are a lucky group. Compared to many they still had a full paycheck coming into the family.

Well some are lower ranks with families and they can't make it without both parents working

Lt Col Charlie Brown Ya I know that, even back when I was a commander we had squadron families that were getting food stamps. Tough situation then and not much has changed.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Lt Col Charlie Brown one of the things I always found terrible here is higher ranking were given base housing and lower ranking were on the economy. I liked being downtown, but those with kids and struggling it was touch. Food stamps were the norm in young families. The slap in the face was our shop super was a MSgt- and made SMSgt; his wife was the manager of the commissary (GS-12) to boot. He was stationed at Luke since he was a SrA, so they established well. Lived in base housing and acted like they were paupers. Leaders lead right? This was a unique thing, but was still a thing.

That is not a good thing- my wife resigned and I talked her into not going back. I retire this month and ready to just enjoy life for a while. Different reasons.

PO3 Bob McCord - excited. It is only my fed side I am retiring from and my Guard col asked if I would stay. So for 12-24 months I will remain in the Guard. Not a bad part time job in my opinion.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I am so tired of the military and veteran populations being trampled on after service persons and their families sacrifice and give so much.
