Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. Beautiful Sunday morning here in the National Capital area. We plan to cook out later today.
Behavior. That's one of the top complaints that counselors hear from clients about other people in their lives. And this is pretty much my response. You cannot change someone else's behavior, but you can change your own. Sometimes changing half of the equation of the relationship will help change the other half. And it is far more likely to happen if the other half is given the tools and understanding as to why that change should happen. I learned that while I can't change someone's bad behavior, I also should not enable it to continue. It's important that we all look in the mirror of our own actions and see that our behavior is what it should be and if not, take steps to improve it.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Thanks for the awesome thoughts and wisdom today about changing half of the equation when it comes to your behavior or someone else's when it comes to relationship and even friendships, or when your leading a group of people and they can witness your behavior (good or bad) - influence can go along way with good or bad behavior. How you conduct yourself through your writing right here on RallyPoint can be a reflection of your behavior. Charlie yours is always positive and influential... Have a great day and I'm jealous you get to cook out today...

"I truly believe that our individual behaviors reflect who we truly are. Some behavior is positive and motivating and others can be negative and debilitating. In the end the choice is yours,

‘We change our behavior when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing.’ — Henry Cloud

May your behavior as a leader or individual reflect who you really want to be and known as in this lifetime; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Behavior change can also be referred to behavior modification and on broader range it can be activities that focus on the individual, community, and environmental influence on behavior. One area of behavior change that is important is for veterans that are suffering from PTSD, TBI, MST, or other Invisible Wounds/Disabilities. It can play a big part in altering their mental wellbeing and health.

Join SFC Richard Williamson tonight for Warriors for Life (WFL) and the Sunday Topic Box where he’ll talk about Behavior Modification…

LTC Charlie! This is so right-on. One of the tools I try to inspire in those clients, students, fellows-in -recovery, etc is an acknowledgement for "learning". They will tell you that they have heard it from me ad nauseam to pay attention and acknowledge the learning that takes place in a day. It might not seem like much but if we learn something new every day, over time, it can add up to a lot of learning. Learning produces "growth" whether we planned it or not and growth produces "change" whether we wanted it or not. With addicts or alcoholics, we are called to say an evening prayer of gratitude. It is here that I encourage my "fellows" to include: Today, I learned ........ I have seen amazing behavioral change from many over time.

I hope that we primarily focus on improving our own behavior since we are role models. No doubt other people look to you for leadership, advice, and knowledge. I pray that you and I are spiritually mature enough to servant leaders with eyes to see and ears to hear what the LORD is showing us and telling us. ‘My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.’ [John 10:27-28 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I thank YOU LORD for sanctification of the soul of each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters. YOU alone are perfect in every respect. By YOUR grace YOU are transforming the horribly-flawed soul of each of us to perfectly reflect YOU. The Holy Spirit is sanctifying the soul of each one of us. HE will restore joy in HIS perfect timing. ‘'Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.’ [James 1:2-4 ESV]
I pray for compassion, mercy, and justice for each homeless veteran and homeless family, widow and widower, unjustly accused, and unjustly imprisoned prisoner. I pray for eternal and temporal salvation for each of the unjustly accused and unjustly imprisoned prisoners. I pray for solace, healing of their broken heart and an overflowing of love for each widow and widower. I pray for adequate and secure housing for each homeless family – I pray that each homeless family and veteran is able to use sweat equity to assist in the construction/refurbishing of the home they will live in. ‘He has sent me to heal the broken hearted because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.' [Luke 4:17-18 ESV]
I lift trustworthy elected officials, appointed officials, judges, leaders of business, industry, military, and informal leaders, leaders of families, and fathers and mothers to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each of us with an increase of the fruit of the Spirit: kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I pray that YOU cleanse us sufficiently and let YOUR light and love shine through us to draw others to YOU. I pray that YOU draw our extended family members, neighbors and coworkers to YOU. ‘Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. … each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.’ [1 Corinthians 3:10c-11,13-14 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.

Good “Sunday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the heavy overcast skies of SW Florida... Excellent topic for today, Mikel...

It is: “Behavior Change Day!” Sometimes we need to change our behavior in order to make things happen...

"We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses." - Carl Jung

"The 'self-image' is the key to human personality and human behavior. Change the self image and you change the personality and the behavior." - Maxwell Maltz

"The most dramatic instances of directed behavior change and "mind control" are not the consequence of exotic forms of influence, such as hypnosis, psychotropic drugs, or "brainwashing," but rather the systematic manipulation of the most mundane aspects of human nature over time in confining settings." - Philip Zimbardo

Remember...,

“Leaders can successfully make behavior change by choosing one or two goals to work on; make their goals public; ask for feedback on their progress; create simple action plans to follow; and make the goals visual to themselves and others!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs…

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I think that changing behavior is a difficult thing to do unless one is receptive to a change... There are too many people out there in the world who are all to ready to try and change other people's mindset and I don't believe this "Cancel" culture is going to last or work... What say you?

Looks like you and the family are having a great time Maj Marty Hogan I really like the fact that you all travel and get out together and enjoy life. Now that is a great way to behave my friend... Enjoy...
