Where I spent most of my pre-pandemic time anyway. I ruck into some remote fishing areas and no one is ever around. Trend setter before it was cool.

Copy that, sir. Several days a week I'm out in the woods w/a pair of binos learning new birds and enjoying the solitude and time with nature. The pace of today's "normal" day is too fast for me...so I find time to recharge outdoors.
Have a good week Maj Marty Hogan

Lt Col Charlie Brown Excellent News. Pandemic Definitely hasn't inhibited My Children and Grandchildren's treks in the Pacific Northwest. Hopefully the "Trails" here in Johnson County, KS are Getting Used More.

Unfortunately, the Appalachian Trail (AT) was essentially shut down during much of the pandemic. Shelters, hostels, privy's were shut down. The AT conservatory, the body that oversees the Trail stated they would not recognize thru hikes of the Trail during the crisis. In Georgia, during the early shut down, they closed off access parking lots to discourage the large numbers of hikers looking for something to do.
On the Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga multi-use trails all restroom facilities were closed during the early months of the pandemic. There were a few Porta John's still available, but not many and they were in more remote locations.
Thankfully, the WMA's didn't shut down, thus one could hike or hunt. The Chattahoochee National Forest was thankfully still open for hiking, mountain biking, hunting and fishing.

That's a miss, sir, that they closed down the AT. Sorry to hear that.
