My honest thought about all this space stuff is that it is money that could be better spent for the welfare of man, right here on earth.

We are an exploring species going way way back in time and there were comparable costs then too... I get what you mean, but look at the 1.9 Trillion Dollar Covid Recovery Bill that was just passed by Congress... Only a small part of that is money for the people... more is set to go to special interest groups and democrat states and other countries as well... THere has to be a balance, in my view, Gene...

I have always laughed at the concept that "we shouldn't be shooting money into space." Not one cent has been shot into space. The money is spent here, building infrastructure and vehicles for space exploration. That money pays suppliers and workers, thus adding to the nation's economic input and reducing unemployment. What better, more charitable cause is there than that?

We wouldn't have a lot of today's technology, without NASA. All sciences have advanced due to their research. It's possible that would would still be using Tube type televisions, and only large companies would have computers. Who worried about insulating buildings, before NASA sent up Infrared cameras that showed cities glowing at night, from escaping heat? Fuel efficiencies in vehicles went up, along with the useful life of their engines. Medicine was advanced, as well. While I collect and restore old Electronics, I wouldn't want to have to depend on it.

Great video. Certainly hope it doesn't have a Remote Viewing System like the KC-46 for offloading fuel.
