The Galley

Now, I’ve spent time onboard Navy ships, I have to admit the chief’s mess on the USS Truman was outstanding. After spending 2 months in the desert, we landed on the USS Shreveport in the Med. The ac, an MH-53 had a gearbox warning light, so we shut down and the mechanics tore into it. We went down to the mess, the navy troops laughed at us because we were chugging the fresh, cold milk. Tasted great!

Ahh the memories. SOS was always a favorite for breakfast. Matter of fact, I just made some the other day. Only I use shaved beef instead of hamburg or dried corned beef.
