Beetle Bailey and Peanuts were my all-time favorites. I would sometimes cut out strips from the Stars & Stripes and keep them in my waterproof billfold (which I still have in my stack of stuff) until they fell apart. (That old billfold was plastic and had the Cav patch on the front. It was about 5"x7" and fit perfectly in the side pocket of my jungle fatigues. I'll find it.) The photo on the right could have been taken at Atlanta Airport in the '60s, except for the color and pattern of the uniforms and the use of cell phones. I’m trying to remember the uniform requirements when traveling in the ‘60s; seems like we could wear utilities off post only when traveling between my residence and my duty station, at all other times travel had to be performed in khakis or Army greens.
Found the plastic billfold, photo attached; it’s smaller than I remembered, only 6”x4”. Mine still had my VFW membership card and owner’s manual for the little Browning pistol I gave the WATT to cover my field duty
(the same one she tried three times to plug me with).

1LT Voyle Smith I had that plastic wallet in Vietnam and I loved it Voyle. Keep everything organized and dry. I wish I could get one today as I was sorry when it finally wore down! Mine had the 23rd Infantry (American) on it.
