Don't build the wall. Disband the police. Build a wall around the capital. Increase the police around the capital. Whats with these democrats? They say one thing then contradict themselves when the shoe is on the other foot.

Take the burden off? Really?? You dial 911 you get a LEO, not some social fairy. And every case requires a LEO, since you did dial 911.. Also, most cities won't even allow a social fairy to do calls/visits without a LEO on their tail. So taking the $$/defunding is useless, they actually need more. LEO's are expected to be: Peacekeeper, EMT's, Lock Smiths, Social Fairy, Lawyer, 411, Tow Truck Driver, Fund Raiser, CSI, Detectives, Paper Pushers, Jailers, Mechanics, so on so forth, get the idea?? Yet, LEO's are expected to take 25 minutes+ to make a SPLIT second decisions. And then the arm chair quarter backs who know diddly squat, crucify them, their leaders toss them under the bus, and they are GUILTY minutes after "any" altercation some twatwaffles "deems" wrong... Let them do their jobs, pay them what they deserve, and quit riding rough shod over them. People who support this BS are on the outside looking in, and know diddly squat. As the saying goes, "Don't throw rocks if you're living in a glass house"...

SPC Kenneth Koerperich - Ask law enforcement - there are things that people call 911 for that you don't need a cop for.

How about this then - unbundle the police.

"The #Unbundle concept, first coined by the music entrepreneur Trevor McFedries, is best thought of not as an alternative to defunding but as a kind of framework to see how bloated modern police work has become—and how a bit of disentangling could make cities safer places for everyone."

"Local governments should make themselves less dependent on traffic citations, which would automatically reduce the number of potentially dangerous interactions between scared civilians and heavily armed officers. Next, carve out a separate job category for pure traffic patrollers. The economist Alex Tabarrok (a police-unbundling advocate) points to Highways England, which employs British traffic officers—distinct from law enforcement—who drive around in black and yellow livery, surveilling the streets."

Police also are forced to handle social work which isn't anything they are trained to do. 10-20% of all US police encounters with the public involve people with signs of mental illness or alcoholism - with 1 in 4 people with mental disorders arrested. There has been more crisis intervention training but there isn't enough and often times innocent people get shot because cops don't know how to handle mental illness or recognize signs of it.

Dealing with homelessness which they are not adequately trained to deal with homeless people either. Perhaps cities could spend money on homelessness directly and not fund a police unit whose 10th job is homelessness intervention and they aren't even trained in it.

How about these examples: "In Austin, Texas, 911 operators redirect callers to one of several departments, including police, fire, and a mental-health service that recently saw its budget increase by millions of dollars. The celebrated CAHOOTS program in Eugene, Oregon, dispatches medics and mental-health counselors to homeless people or others in distress. Both of these services solve a paradox of modern policing, which is that police are highly trained to be warriors at a time of historically low crime but undertrained to be mental-health interventionists at a time when our streets need just that."

How about this? "“Two questions that could guide the reform movement are ‘What is it that police actually do?’ and ‘Why do we need armed police to do it?’” says Patrick Sharkey, a Princeton sociologist. Sharkey is no police-hating radical. He has worked with commissioners across the country, and his research has shown that targeted policing can be effective in reducing crime, especially in the most violent neighborhoods. But he thinks communities ought to experiment with alternative models to policing. “Police presence can reduce violence, but there are lots of other things that reduce violence, too. Business improvement districts reduce violence. University security organizations reduce violence. It’s possible that relying on police isn’t as necessary as we once thought, and that we might even have safer communities without many of them.”"

There's multiple ways to unburden cops and allow them to focus more on violent crimes and respond quicker than to have to deal with things that they have no training or knowledge of.

LOL, guess you haven't been watching any of this years news, or, for that matter the last 12 years. Obummer made LEO's targets, started all this "racial" bullshit, and made it so criminals are now the victims, and the LEO's the criminals. Can't do your job, no matter what load you take off them. And seriously, you must be smoking crack. Drug users WILL NOT rehab until they are ready, yet they will commit crimes non stop to feed their habit. Job placement, lmfao, my companies burns through dozens of "workers/placements" a month. They have to want to WORK first, but they'd rather ride the free gravy train that you and I pay for with our tax dollars. No such thing as "affordable" housing. Landlords want the max rent they can get, and have you been in a real "affordable housing" area??? High crime, drugs, gangs, and prostitution abound, and yes, I have, I spent 1 year on the streets of LA, lived in "affordable" housing, and prayed daily I didn't get knifed, shot, robbed, or home invaded once I did get off the streets. Decriminalize drugs...again, you must be smoking crack. This is your governments work horse, along side WAR, on getting FUNDING and back filling their pockets. It will never happen. Education, again, they HAVE to want it. Most won't, as it means they actually have to get a J-O-B. Remember, I've lived it for multiple years, from the street all the way back up to where I am now. And I did it HONESTLY, without any help. Here is exactly what I was told when I tried to get assistance...

"Are you an addict?" No
"Mentally unstable/PTSD?" No
"Any reason physically why you can't work" No

"GO GET A FUCKING JOB THEN YOU WHITE POS"...is exactly what I was told, and I was DENIED any assistance. The ahole even had the audacity to tell me "You're the wrong color, so you don't qualify...Get to work and support those who can't."

So I did...and I have no sympathy for any of "them"..no matter their skin color. They can get a job and do it without assistance JUST like I did.

And I really wish LEO's would be let off the LEASH! The leftists/touchy feely/brain addled need to piss off. Criminals need to pay dearly, each an everytime, not be coddled. Gangs run rampant, drug dealers flourish, so on so forth. If punishments were actually dished out instead of leniency, there wouldn't be so many cities over run with crime, nor be MILLIONS of dollars in the hole due to bs like we've been seeing. LEO's are handicapped and need to be unleashed. This shit would cease quick like...

And with what just got "voted"/"stolen" into office, it's only going to become [login to see] times worse....

That's a FACT!

Tata...no reply needed...I'm done listening to your "leftist" "everyone needs to be coddled" view....

Umm....huh? How is he blaming Pelosi? "Where was she?" Oh let's see - in an undisclosed location because people burst into the Capitol to kidnap her and probably kill her? Perhaps?

It actually isn't Pelosi's job for Capitol security.

"The United States Capitol Police (USCP) is overseen by the Capitol Police Board and has Congressional oversight by appropriations and authorizing committees from the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate."

So no - it's not the responsibility of any Speaker of the House for Capitol security. At all.

I don't get how anyone keeps voting for him to keep his job.
