Can the Pentagon prosecute military retirees under the UCMJ? Maybe — it depends.

This comes up again and again. Not easy to do nor should it be. Once you leave you are subject to civil law like everyone else

One exception I do see is if you committed a crime while on AD and it wasn't discovered until after you retired

If you got out before retirement - no.
If you retired from AD - possibly.
