SGT M. Andrew Velez I had two friends from 2/28 when it was Riley. One was the A Company 1SG. They had golfed together there before the 1st shipped to Nam.

Really?? See I wish my dad was still us Sergeant Major, I would ask him about these things. That's of course not the only reason. He was very tight lipped about his service. In fact, one of the reasons it took me 5 years to restore his uniform, is because I had to do all the investigations myself. I wish we had thought to sit down with him and ask him all about his experiences.

SGT M. Andrew Velez - I came back on to ask you more about your dad’s service. Did he deploy with the Big Red One? SGT Philip Roncari deployed in a BDE from Ft Lewis that was transferred to the Division. Do you have his 214? Have you gotten his records from the National Archives? My brothers’ Form 20 from there was a great record of the positions he had filled over his career.. Nice job on the uniform by the way.

CSM Charles Hayden - Yes, he did deploy with The Big Red One. And we do have his DD214. We got some of his records from the national archives but I'm not sure about the form 20. As far as knowing some of the men he served with I am in the process of contacting the friends we do know he served with and doing interviews. And thank you.

SGT M. Andrew Velez After more reflection, I think a White Service Record, (?heavy duty, double length white form), from his 201 File contains his duty various assignments.
