My grandparents came through Ellis Island 1910-11 time frame. Remember touring it as a kid in mid 50s but haven't been there since, it was pretty dilapidated as I remember.

Holland on the rotterdam I believe. I thought you might be a dane by the way your name is spelled. we have a few families living in this area

Sgt Jim Belanus When I was stationed in Grand Forks there were also a lot of Danes, more Norwegians but it was the first time I'd ever lived anywhere with so many Scandinavians around.

we have areas settled by Dane, Finlanders, Norskies ,Swedish get out west and it's a lot on German Russians. We are the great melting pot and a lot of intermingling . My Dutch grandfather married a English Scottish girl had 2 sons . My dad married a french girl. So that's is a lot on intermingling
