I think we all knew that Jimmy Stewart served proudly in WWII and was a pilot, General Officer and Squadron Commander. What I didn't know was that he had PTSD (Shell Shock) and had been grounded and that It's a Wonderful Life was his first film after the war. It was a real life version of psychodrama treatment for PTSD

I have always loved the movies that Jimmy Stewart was in... Great actor, great man...IMHO, Lt Col Charlie Brown! Thank you for sharing...

One of the few Actor's that I actually appreciate, There are so few of them that served, those that did serve I appreciate and watch a lot, those that didn't serve as long as they keep their mouth shut I can deal with,Those that didn't serve and want the world to bow down to them can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

Not only did He serve but He also had a son that was a Major in the Marines and was killed in Vietnam. His closest friends tended to be Veteran's of the Armed Forces and its them He most closely related to.
