I remember a few years ago when we were facing budget cuts and soldiers were getting emails from HQDA saying Sergeant's Time training is going to be critical as they had to reprioritize funding for deployed, deploying and some "essential" units

SSG (Join to see) personally, STT never stopped being critical. If we can't do the individual-sqd tasks well the company cant fight. Im a huge fan of it.

MSG (Join to see) I completely agree. If nothing else, it affords junior NCOs the opportunity to improve their training and teaching skills.

You can project all you want but you can't that the objective with planes, boats and satellites. You have to have boots on the ground. No boots then stay home.

Personally, I feel that the Navy is plenty large and that new ship acquisitions should only be to replace vessels that have reached end-of-service-life.
