Oh my. In your words Chip, please tell us useless citizens who lack a college degree just where it is that we went wrong? Please tell us so we may raise ourselves and become productive members of society.

Pretty simple equation, really.
Three criteria:
1. Which candidate espouses policies that better benefit me.
2. Which candidate espouses policies that are better for the country as a whole.
3. Which candidate do I agree with more often than the other one(s).

I believe we need more critical thinking skills. I believe we are not teaching that any longer because people don't have to think with the readily available information on Google etc. I believe that our nation is to a point that we believe anything that makes us feel good and that isn't critical thinking. Sometimes thinking through something may hurt your feelings or your current thoughts instead of making hallway decisions with barracks lawyers. I am a white educated male with an associates degree, bachelors degree and two masters degrees so yes I have had to critically think over the years especially in my positions in the military. However, using those skills I could not in the last election vote for Hillary, Trump IMHO, even with all his faults is better than she would have ever been...there is no perfect candidate and I wish the Republicans put someone better up against her but he was my best option after looking at what they said they were going to do for the nation. Here we are again in 2020. Biden can't even remember where he is and who he is debating. He is also for something then against something then for something then against something over and over to whoever is in the crowd. Am I pleased with the performance of Trump in the last four years...not 100% but I cannot and will not vote for Biden and Harris and their socialistic ideals that are being puppeteered to them by the NEW Democratic party. I just wish they had put someone better suited to make me think a little harder on my choice but for me the choice is clear...I will not vote any hint of socialism.

If your problem is with some outdated definition of 'socialism', then you are not using your critical thinking skills. While Clinton was far from perfect, she would not have done the damage to this country tRump has done. And, while Biden is not perfect, he is a better alternative than 4 more years of what we have had to endure so far. Neither are my first choice, but I would vote for the Libertarian candidate before I vote for tRump, and I don't even know if they put up a candidate this time around.

There is no outdated definition of it...Socialism is socialism...no matter how you try to slice it. There aren't any real successful socialist countries out there. Not successful in modern countries. Just doesn't work. I won't vote for even a slight hint of that.
