Spread of Covid-19 due to fear invited complete Lockdown that lasted over 60 days. Every business establishment was sealed and work from home became the new norm in India. Only essential services were allowed to operate and passes were issued for special movement during lockdown.
Businesses lost income and customers. This loss translates into economic downturn, which is natural.
India is under Exit 4.0 from Lockdown 5.0 and malls, other business establishments are back to 100% now, yet people prefer to stay safe at home due to fear of contracting the virus. However, steadily, change is taking place and share prices are rallying up again.

Excellent share Chip.
The virus from China instilled fear in the masses and this worry led to the spread of Covid-19 in India. Business establishments sanitized, forced masks or no service and maintained social distancing. However, the spread of Covid-19 was due to fear in India and numbers affected is huge due to antigens testing throughout the Country.
To maintain social distancing nationwide, India went into a complete lockdown, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Except for essential services, all else was shut. Today, five months later, in Unlock 4.0, restaurants and malls are 100% operational, people are still very cautious and prefer staying away; attraction lost.
Normalization in India will definitely take time and patience is a virtue.
