I did 5 counter drug deployments chasing these bastards. Dumped an unbelievable amount of drugs, and unfortunately it was only a small percentage of what gets through.
These narco subs don't need anything more than a "love tap" from a steel hulled warship. They are not built from the greatest materials nor with great workmanship. Each one is considered a one or two trip vehicle. Amazing what you can throw away when you literally have tons of money.
Sorry about your step daughter. Rehab works, only if the person wants it. My cousin just hit his 10,000 day of sobriety.

She is messed up, feels worthless without a mate and the Mate often leaves her because of her addictions and lack of money due to no desire. In Canada, if you drop out of school and begin after age 21, you pay thousands instead of just a small admission fee. She foxtrotted herself. She thinks she can apply to college. She will not qualify because of no recent proof of motivation or success. She put herself in her own catch 22. It is the sick cat that never goes away....
It is a vicious circle. Congrats on the 10k day of sobriety of your Cousin!

I like the idea of using the A-10. The sound of that Gatling would be to a narco-terrorist like the sound of a 12-gauge pump racking a round in a dark bedroom. However, the real problem is the one you're living with. So long as there is a demand, someone is going to fill it if the price is right. Making it harder on the dealers dissuades the more timid ones, but also encourages the more ruthless. We, in effect, are helping remove their competition so they can charge more. As the price of the drugs rise, addicts must commit more crime to pay for them. We really need to find a different and better way of making "War on Drugs"

Jack, my Daughter was sent to rehab a couple of times. She is LGBTQ and she is a submissive puppy to any female who is bi or Gay and she only has a 9th Grade Education. She dropped out one time because her GF said She would break up with her if she did not leave the rehab asap. My stepdaughter just walked out because she is over 18. Canada has wonderful programs but, once they are adults, we cannot do anything. She did smoke pot and use magic mushrooms. Magic Mushroom has the same compounds as LSD. She is quiet most of the time unless she is high or drunk. POT taken pre-teen and teen, especially at the concentrations ,that were not around in the late 1970. can really rewire your brain and make you a dumb depressed drifter. The free welfare just subsidizes bad behavior.

These narco subs are easy to detect. They are slow and mechanically unreliable. Military assets have been used for decades tracking smugglers. Don't understand why druggies think these subs will work.

They do though, because they are covered with lead to absorb radar and their paint scheme is hard to spot from above. We worked with many subs down there but they look like regular fishining boats on sonar so unless the ssn gets a visual fix in it and locks in the signature it is a guess.
