Good morning Col Burroughs and we've made it to another RED Friday. I have a full plate today (two workshops and a doctor's appointment--in person!) so let's get to it
Banter is the easy back and forth that acts as a "social lubricant" The key is not to overdo it or allow it to take the place of more important and intimate conversations. I do enjoy banter (after my coffee of course) but I also recognize that it can, like many other things, take up too much time if you let it.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I like that Charlie "All Aboard he Banter Bus!" That is exactly what we have here on RallyPoint most of the time. We hae a few that like to banter, babble, and belittle, but they can be avoided most of the time. Thanks for sharing the quotes and your thoughts. Let me leave you with this final thought Charlie:
“May you always have good-humored banter with friends, veterans, service members, and family members and may it always be about fun and wit; may you always project a positive attitude when you are bantering back and forth; may you always take the very best are of yourself for future bantering; and keep your family safe, secure, and healthy during these uncertain times in our American History. Banter for fun and enjoyment, never to be demeaning – Respect Always!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that your banter is generally a blend of wit and wisdom. Hopefully, you have learned to think before speaking in anger especially to those closest to you in relationship. ‘So also, the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness ’ [James 3:5-6 ESV] Charlie.
I pray you that I remember the blessing of the LORD of the helmet of salvation which guards our mind. ‘Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.' [Philippians 4:8 ESV], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
I pray that parents of school age children are wise and consistent as they talking with their children and/or their spouse and demonstrate control of their tongue. When we make mistakes of judgement, I pray we seek forgiveness and ask the LORD to help us genuinely repent.
I lift the news organization editorial supervisors of all stripes as well as Twitter, Facebook and RallyPoint to YOU dear LORD. I pray for an increase of good judgement and fairness for those who are gatekeepers of information.
LORD I pray that you take the LORD’s admonishment, for controlling our tongue, to heart:
a. 'The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. [James 3:7-8 ESV]
b. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.' [James 3:9-12 ESV]
I pray LORD that each of the elected leaders, legislators, appointed officials, and judges throughout the USA, [as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America] are increasingly demonstrating good judgment and respect for their constituents.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and your loved ones sleep well Friday night and will awake healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “R.E.D. Friday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader” from the currently mostly cloudy skies of the Greater Boston Area... I have another busy day today, so I will be off and on all day, but mostly off... I'm heading out in less than an hour so I am moving quickly to get my Quote response posted! LOL!
“Banter Day!” Why Not?
1) "If I was talking to someone face-to-face I would always be clear, but with something like Snapchat, you need to keep the flirty banter going;otherwise you'll be staring at an empty red arrow, cringing." - Holly Carpenter
2) "I miss the banter with friends and family, which more often than not takes place within the confines of a decent public house. So I miss the pubs." - Chris Vance
3) "I've noticed that the magic getting along with someone isn't really magic. If you break it down, you can see how it happens. You say something a bit off-center and see if they react. If they get it, they push it a bit further. Then it's your turn again. And theirs. And so on, until it's banter. Once it's banter, it's friendship." - Meg Rosoff
4) "In the end, I think the relationships that survive in this world are the ones where two people can finish each other's sentences. Forget drama and torrid sex and the clash of opposites. Give me banter any day of the week." - Douglas Coupland
5) "You need not attempt to shake off or to banter off Romance. It is an evil you will never get rid of to the end of your days. It is a part of yourself ... of your soul. Age will only mellow it a little, and give it a holier tone." - Edgar Allan Poe
And please make sure that you understand that...
“Good-humored banter can be fun and witty – most importantly, deliver it with respect always!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good "Red Friday" Morning COL. "Banter Day" ......
Banter, small talk, voiced opinions......All are necessary for human interaction.......
The more interaction the more we as a nation can come together......
I guess it all starts with a little Banter back and forth.....
Good morning to the Bosses, enjoy the tea and then.....
You know what to do COL......
Have a super day
