Following WWII, the US and Britain had warehouses full of captured German Enigma (Encryption/Decryption) machines that they gave to allies and non-aligned nations "out of the goodness of our hearts". What they failed to mention is that during WWII, they had broken the vaunted codes of these devices. Of course, you can imagine the result. I can't help but wonder how much of American military hardware is equipped with safety devices that can be used to prevent these devices from being turned against us or our allies, much as Chinese computer technology (devices and applications) contain backdoors for them to use.
