This is just an assumption, but it seems that since they are doing this program, they already believe that there is a problem with the current and past batch of COL's?

I don’t mean this in a flippant way but have you met a lot of COL’s?

I was the administrative aide and driver for a COL for over 2 years. SFC Thomas Foreman

SSG Clint Underhill so that’s one. And hopefully he/she was a good one. But a bad O6 can wreak havoc on any level like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve seen more than a few that come into their position with the absolute assurance that they dictate policy to god. I can’t say I’ve seen one with overt racial bias, but I have damn sure seen homophobia, sexism, and utter disdain for us mere peasant enlisted. I once sat in an introductory brief with an incoming brigade commander and he spent 30 minutes talking about all the AGR soldiers he got fired and 2 minutes talking about suicide prevention in a brigade that had just had 3-4 suicides in the past year. If they get to that level with ANY bias it’ll take a lot more than advise from staff to fix it.

That’s a shame that those events would take place, from any level. I truly do hate hearing stories like that. I sat in on more briefings than I can count where the lowest ranking person besides myself was an O-6 and I personally never experienced that. I’m really glad that I did not have that experience though. Sadly, it does happen. SFC Thomas Foreman
