Good morning Col Burroughs. There is power in knowing oneself. I know a number of people who run from that; who spend a lot of time deceiving themselves about who they are and what their motives might be. The only one taken in by that would be the person involved. Self knowledge is critical if you are going to improve yourself, connect with others and/or find your way spiritually. When you look in the mirror, are you seeing your true self?

Good “Monday” Morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs from the now cloudy skies of the MetroWest area of Greater Boston... “Self-Knowledge Day!” Why Not? Great topic of discussion...

My Quote:
Self-knowledge is a formidable part of all knowledge gained as one moves on through life... Wisdom does not come easily... Learn from your mistakes, digest what is good, internalize what you value and see it in yourself. Then you will know who you are." Kerry F. Harkins July 13, 2020

1) "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." - Aristotle

2) "Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power." - Laozi

3) "If most of us remain ignorant of ourselves, it is because self-knowledge is painful and we prefer the pleasures of illusion." - Aldous Huxley

4) "Through persistence, self-knowledge, prayer, commitment, optimism, a resolute trust in God and the building of your own personal moral strength, you can enjoy the blessings of a deeper faith and face the difficulties of life with courage and confidence." - Norman Vincent Peale

and when one puts it all into perspective remember that...

“Self-Knowledge is one of the important traits of a great leader. They are able to evaluate their own actions and beliefs and how they impact the team and organization in a positive fashion.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Sgt (Join to see) - Thanks for the great quotes yesterday as well. I'm running a day late and a dollar short (lots of dollars to be frank - lol) “May you continue to grow your self-knowledge, so it has a positive impact on others and helps them grow from your leadership; may you remain positive during the toughest of times and use your resilience to persevere when times are the worse; and may you always take the very best care of yourself (we want you around for a longtime) and keep your family strong, safe, happy, and healthy! Self-Knowledge is one of important traits of a good leader!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that your spiritual maturity has produced a balanced self-knowledge of your strengths and weaknesses. I expect the LORD has demonstrated HIS strength through at least one of your weaknesses. Perhaps after fervent prayers, HE told you “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” Mark.
I pray that you and I spiritually mature enough to encourage those who are afraid of the violent protesters, COVID-19 infection, and how they might respond to threats real and imagined. I pray that we are content in whatever status we and those we love are in, my brother-in-Christ PVT Mark Zehner.

I pray LORD that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who read this prayer have significant faith in YOU as we learn more about the health situation of those closest to us relationally and in proximity. I pray that we each thank YOU for the good and the bad we experience and on the horizon.
I lift the individuals awaiting test results for cancer, heart disease, and other serious conditions to YOU as well as those with trepidation about COVID-19 tests and risks. I pray that YOU bless each one with peace enough to listen to the test results and wisdom to make decisions on follow-up treatment for those it is recommended for.
I lift the school children to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless each one with hope and that YOU fulfill that hope quickly. I pray that school children are healthy and that the vast majority will stay healthy throughout the coming school year.
I pray that families in voluntary quarantine are drawing closer for each other and communication is improving in each family. I pray that those in quarantine are becoming more transparent and truthful to answer the questions of those who need assistance to evaluate themselves.
I pray for an increase of transparency of reasoning and priorities of government emphasis for each of the elected leaders, legislators, appointed officials, and judges throughout the USA, as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America.
I pray for wisdom for voters and elected officials. I pray that the majority of communities, towns and cities support the police force and sheriff’s deputies. I pray that YOU do whatever needs to be done to draw reasonable people away from supporting black lives matter Marxists, Antifa anarchists and their financial backers.
Vengeance belongs to YOU. I pray that YOU place a hedge of protection around the innocent.
I pray that YOU bless each person working to develop vaccines and treatment for COVID-19 with wisdom to develop COVID-19 vaccines and treatments and communication skills to get approval for the fully-tested vaccines through the bureaucratic processes in a timely manner.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Monday night and shall awake healthy on Tuesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.
