Good morning Col Burroughs and a perfect topic as we are still in the throws of the pandemic. Prevention is better and less painful than having to go through the cure (if there is one) so whatever we can do to keep ourselves healthy we should be doing. Distancing, eating properly, sufficient sleep, exercise, etc are all important in this process.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Your comments about prevention are well stated today Charlie and thanks for all the great quotes. Let me leave you with this Charlie:

“May you always take the necessary preventative steps to keep your health in order with solid prevention steps in advance; may you have the right attitude and be positive about prevention methods in your life, and use your resilience when needed to overcome obstacles; may you always take good care of yourself through the preventive measures and keep your family strong, safe, and healthy. Prevention is always being aware in advance!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that you are aware that God designed you with preventive capabilities against infection, disease and so much more. HE is an ever-present help WHO loves to bless each of us with intimate fellowship. Not only does HE work all to good for HIS own corporately, HE blesses us individually Charlie.
I pray that you and I remember to pray for the sick and do our part to help others stay healthy as well as ourselves.’ Remember that we are priests of our homes and GOD uses us to minister. YOUR power is made perfect in our weakness. [2 Corinthian 12: 9 personalized], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray dear LORD that YOU prompt your prayer warriors to intercede for wisdom and justice for the elected leaders, legislators and judges throughout the USA, as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America.
LORD I lift the first responders and others on the front lines of medical triage and police and security personnel responsible for protection, safety, and security. I pray that YOU prepare each one to be a blessing to each one they interact with. Enable them to stand for truth, justice, and good health even while YOU prevent the enemy of our souls from doing anything against YOUR specific will.
LORD I pray that each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters takes YOUR admonishment to heart:
a. 'Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. ' [1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV]
b. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. [Ephesians 4:31-32 ESV]
c. Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. You have heard that it is said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.' [Matthew 5:42-44a ESV]
LORD I lift the sick, the injured, the displaced refugees, transients, and suicidal throughout the USA, as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America to YOU. I pray that YOU motivate individuals to pray for them and help prevent them from doing evil against themselves and others.
Thank you, LORD for YOUR Word on love and kindness which is an aspect of Biblical love.
a. 'So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.' [2 Corinthians 12:7-10 ESV]

b. ESV 'A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.' [Psalm 23:1-6]

c. 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.' [John 3:16 ESV]

d. 'Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.' [James 5: 13-15 ESV]
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Sunday night and shall awake healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good Sunday morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs from another New England cloudy day! Somewhat unusual for us to see so many cloudy days with possible rain forecast... LOL!
"Prevention" Day Why not? Finishing up a late breakfast and ready for a great day... Back shortly!

1) "True prevention is not waiting for bad things to happen, it's preventing things from happening in the first place." - Don McPherson

2) "If people are constantly falling off a cliff, you could place ambulances under the cliff or build a fence on the top of the cliff. We are placing all too many ambulances under the cliff." - Denis Burkitt

3) "The fear of meeting the opposition of envy, or the illiberality of ignorance is, no doubt, the frequent cause of preventing many ingenious men from ushering opinions into the world which deviate from common practice. Hence for want of energy, the young idea is shackled with timidity and a useful thought is buried in the impenetrable gloom of eternal oblivion." - Robert Fulton

4) "We will be misguided in our intentions if we point at one single thing and say that it will prevent war, unless, of course, that thing happens to be the will, the determination, and the resolve of people everywhere that nations will never again clash on the battlefield." - Leslie Richard Groves

5) "He who cures a disease may be the skillfullest, but he who prevents it is the safest physician." - Thomas Fuller

Never lose sight of the fact that...

“Prevention is an attitude, it’s an awareness, and it’s taking preventive measures in advance!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Wishing you all a great Sunday!

Sgt (Join to see) - So sorry I missed you yesterday on all the great quotes you provided brother, but I was busy working on the "Burroughs' Posse" post (lol). Hope you and the family had a great weekend and ready to hope back on the horse and wrangle up some activity here on RallyPoint today. Let me leave you with this additional thought for yesterday's topic Kerry:

“May you always take the necessary preventative steps to keep your health in order with solid prevention steps in advance; may you have the right attitude and be positive about prevention methods in your life, and use your resilience when needed to overcome obstacles; may you always take good care of yourself through the preventive measures and keep your family strong, safe, and healthy. Prevention is always being aware in advance!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good Morning COL Mikel Burroughs!
I have heard the quote: “an ounce of prevention of s worth a pound of cure” as long as I am able to remember. Still good words of wisdom and necessary information for today’s chaotic world.
