Power is the only thing they care about. They can tell the blacks that they're concerned for their issues right up until they get elected. Same thing goes for every group they pander to during their campaigns.

The same can be said about Republicans and just about any lifelong politician. The Republicans are willing to look the other way on the insurrection to avoid any embarrassment to gain back power, the Democrats want to keep it. Same old, same old.

Sgt (Join to see) - My contention is that is one of many possible factors that may be going through the prosecutor's mind.
My thoughts on this are not exactly unique.
Garland's quotes show a cautious "undercharging" approach and sticking to settled areas of criminal law.

Why Garland and DOJ haven't charged anyone with sedition for the US Capitol riots - KTVZ
By Evan Perez, CNN Justice Correspondent In the weeks after the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol, the Justice Department looked at the possibility of pursuing charges under the rarely used seditious conspiracy law. Since then, and particularly since the start of the Biden administration, skepticism among top officials has made that possibility increasingly

SPC Kevin Ford - Ok, so despite what Garland says to help try to garner political capital, please explain how this has anything to do with Trump supporters on a jury.
And "undercharging" in what has been overplayed as "sedition," over and over again, makes no sense whatsoever.

Sgt (Join to see) - You need to go back and look at how this conversation progressed. We've been going through all the different reasons why people may not have been charged with sedition. I've been explaining to you all the different reasons why prosecutorial discretion may make that happen. I don't know all the reasons and neither do you. We can speculate on them, but coming to the conclusion that just because someone was not charged with a crime, means they didn't commit the crime is not logically sound.
As a reminder, this is your comment that got this discussion going, "How many have been charged with insurrection? Or sedition? Or treason?" My reply, "...There are various reasons why prosecutors do not charge in certain ways that have nothing to do with what the actual event was..." My position has not changed.

SPC Kevin Ford - And neither has mine. But I always enjoy the conversations. Even when the other party's position is dumb. :)
