A decidedly leftist spin on reality and the purpose for the 2nd Amendment.

SGT Edward Wilcox - did you actually read the article? Everything from the embedded commentary through the misrepresentation of what it means to be "heavily armed" through quoting "gun control organization" misrepresented "statistics" as relevant and completely false description of the meaning of the Second Amendment to characterizing a peaceful, extremely polite assembly (including picking up all their own litter) as using "the Second Amendment to undermine democracy and individual rights", this article reeks of the author's bias.

Lt Col Mark Avery What I would like to know is whether there have been any other rallies that left the city cleaner than when they got there? It seems to me that the rally in Richmond raised the bar for peaceful protests. No arrests, no scuffles with LE, just a peaceful assembly with a wide variety of speakers of all colors and ethnicities.

SGT Steve McFarland - There have been other such rallies, but they don't get as much press as that one in Richmond. I can't think of any which protest against individual liberty, founding principles, and traditional values, though.

I did some basic research about this author who teaches a Course in Government at Blinn College in Texas... She has written several articles against President Trump and his administration and writes with a definite slant toward the Democrat policies and objectives... This article is totally biased and definitely focuses on the the radical left position on the 2nd Amendment of our United States Constitution... Basket Weaving -3 anyone?

It's an opinion piece. How about we debate the topic, instead of attacking the author?

SGT Edward Wilcox - It wasn't couched as an opinion piece, however. You're right, that's exactly what it is, and understanding the context (which includes understanding the author's bias) is not attacking the author, merely informing the reader.

A Grammar Lesson Example: "I can see the dog pack and they're friendly but there is one hound, the brown one, that likes to nip so be careful not to let him get too close."
Then there's the 2nd Amendment clause -
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
You will note there are not a single comma but three commas, which as a whole caused the Supreme Court to strike down D.C.'s ban on handguns - which were the country's strictest gun control laws.
