yes my grandpa was a lifer and always deployed and so that led to my dad not being raised by him and the divorce that is what I read into it.
then vietnam happens and 1966 my dad is 18.
then I am born 1976.
2013 is when i would start figuring out these things
2020 I would have these documents....
I am still trying to figure out how to go to music school..as the va will not support me in that...

Thanks for your take on this.
How many of those families had the same thing happen to them as children when their fathers were away during WW II?

Thanks for chiming in.
Infact my father was born to a Navy Lifer MM1 who was always deployed WW2.
That is my grandpa my dad and me in boot camp not knowing anything about them until recently...
What hit me the hardest is that when I went to the va myself with an honorable discharge they said I would only be seen because of my reserve enlistment, did not qualify like the other guys I served with on that ship, limited with a humanitarian waiver and 2 times during those 5 years, 1 time at the vet center I was denied services after my humanitarian waiver of 1 year expired, and then at the VA hospital was under threat for years of denials of therapy to discuss what happened on the ship that had me trying to do a Navy to Army transfer that was medically DQ by MEPS in 1998, something I tried to forget, until 2013 when I finally had to tlak about it, homeless in the streets, finally putting my family tree together...
I finally went to the VA and asked if I could go to college based on being my dads child. I found there was a denial because of a statute of limitations, I missed by 2 years. The statute of limitiations never actually quantify that a solider may not get to the va for some 30 years, and his kid would just barely miss a statute of limitation
I still want to go to music school
Please let me know if you read this.
Thanks
