Causation/Correlation...
In 1942 the US President was a democrat. Equating the democrat president's impact on Mexican nationals to "the orange man" is intellectually dishonest.

Who gives a shit what party they belonged to? You mention that as if the parties of those times reflect the same demographics as today. There is one common denominator though...wonder what that is?

Instead of a causality argument, why not a chronological snobber argument... FDR was a democrat from a different era predating the Marxist elements of today's democrats

The stack must be pretty thin when you attempt to tie a program from the 1940's to Trump. Are you arguing that MS13 gang members (Salvadoran's) are not coming across the border? Are you suggesting drugs (from Mexican cartels) and human trafficking are not happening and are not things we should stop? Is your argument that we should have wide open borders with no control on who or what enters the country?

Almost every country in the world controls its borders. Of course there are some no one would immigrate to also. This program does not exist any longer but that does not mean we should not be stopping illegal immigration. Many support a legal temporary work Visa type program etc.

My wife is a proud Mexican who picked in Arizona and California during the 1970s. It was a way for the kids to earn extra money for her family, and they never considered it a racist program. It was a good option for them. No one was forced to come North and apply. And no one was forced to return...but almost all of them did return, because it was better work and better pay than was available in Mexico. Her dad hates this kind of story because it attempts to paint him as a victim, and he doesn't see himself that way. He entered the country on a work program and raised six kids and worked very hard for 40 years in a paper mill. I have great respect for him.

Good for them but the video timeline is early 20th century and whether people want to accept it or not those people were victimized. Desperate people are grateful for any lifeline they can get but that still doesn't excuse the treatment perpetrated on them. Your wife never had to experience the humiliating examinations, fumigation, gasoline baths nor being sprayed with toxic DDT. What's the saying? Learn from history so it doesn't repeat itself? Words to that effect.
