SP5 Mark Kuzinski - Great quote today brother - running behind today and it's night already brother. Hope you and Diana had a great Monday. Mark may you bring Zen appreciation into your life today and for all the days to come through strong intuition and meditation, continue to stay positive and strong during these unprecedented times we're all living through, and continue to keep yourself and all of your family safe and healthy! Time to get the Zen on!

I expect that you are aware that meditating on scripture, devotionals, and prayers and other important documents is beneficial. The eastern practices of attempting to empty oneself are foolish and can open doors no human can shut to demonic activity Mark
I pray that you and I meditate on positive subjects especially God’s Word, and that we focus on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise and dwell on those things, my brother-in-Christ SP5 Mark Kuzinski

I thank YOU LORD for YOUR Word ““When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ “And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order. “Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.” [Luke 11:24-26]
I pray that each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters spend time to reflect on YOUR word an d that we offer prayers to the LORD for peaceful relationships among neighbors and neighboring nations.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Monday night.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

1. As a born-again believer in the LORD through the atonement of the Christ I will take pass on Zen Buddhism which I explored decades ago and found woefully lacking.

2. For the uninitiated and ignorant Zen is "a Japanese school of Mahayana Buddhism emphasizing the value of meditation and intuition." Fr om Merriam Webster's Zen is "a Japanese sect of Mahayana Buddhism that aims at enlightenment by direct intuition through meditation."

3, Zen as in much of eastern meditative foundational systems uses meditation to empty the self of what is considered toxic including thoughts, emotions, and beliefs.

4. Christian-based meditation is focused on meditating on something - especially God's Word, as well as devotional readings.

5. In the 1970's there was an effort to mainstream Zen and books were published such as Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance written in 1974 by Robert M. Pirsig. It is "a work of fictionalized autobiography, and is the first of Pirsig's texts in which he explores his "Metaphysics of Quality".

6. Psalm 1:1-4 English Standard Version (ESV)
[Book One]
The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law] of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away."

Quotes I appreciate:
1. Charles Haddon Spurgeon "“Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long!” Psalm 119:97
It is well to meditate upon the things of God–because it is only by pondering the Scriptures, that we get the real nutriment out of them. A man who hears many sermons–is not necessarily well-instructed in the faith. We may read so many religious books that we overload our brains, and they may be unable to work under the weight of the great mass of paper and of printer’s ink.
The man who reads but one book, and that book his Bible, and then meditates much upon it–will be a better scholar in Christ’s school than he who merely reads hundreds of books, and does not meditate at all!
Oh, that we might get into the very heart of the Word of God–and get that Word into ourselves!"
2. Greg Oden “To meditate on Scripture is to allow the truth of God’s Word to move from head to heart. It is to so dwell upon a truth that it becomes part of our being.”

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs Already a second try, apparently not enough coffee.
Zen, an interesting concept. I choose to regard it as finding peace, love, sufficiency, within rather than outside ourselves. Some find this in their faith, in prayer. Some in spirituality or meditation. However and wherever you seek, it is as much about the journey as the destination.

I will tell you! Back in the day, we would be laughed at for espousing Zen, Buddhist sentiments, etc on military time. I love the change!
