1. Rest is important for human beings as well as the animal kingdom.
2. God designed rest for human beings which is why HE instituted the sabbath as a day of rest. The specific day is not crucial. God designed us to require periodic rest.
3. Each of us requires differing amounts of rest to function well over our own lifetime.
4. Parents of infants and sick children tend to be in dire need of sound rest. It is great when they can share the load of caring for the child/children and wonderful if others can offer meaningful assistance.
5. Resting in the midst of a thunderstorm is much easier than resting in a tornado, hurricane, or direct or indirect fire in a war zone.
Quotes I appreciate
1. Augustine of Hippo 'Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.' Augustine of Hippo, Confessions
2. Thomas a Kempis 'In omnibus requiem quaesivi, et nusquam inveni nisi in angulo cum libro. (Everywhere I have sought peace and not found it, except in a corner with a book.)'
3. John Lubbock 'Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.' ― John Lubbock, The Use Of Life
4. William Wordsworth 'Rest and be thankful.'
5. Teresa of Avila 'Love turns work into rest.'
I lift those people deployed on the war battlegrounds as well those who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 infection EMT, ICU, triage and other medical capabilities; police, National Guard and security protective duty to YOU. I pray dear LORD That YOU bless each one with an ability to rest peacefully and securely and wake refreshed to resume their duties.
I pray that the President and Vice President of this nation and their spouses and primary staff, the leaders of the other relatively free nations and their spouses and staff members are resting securely and safely tonight.
I pray that the governors and Federal and state legislature representatives in this nation and around the world are focused on what is best for their nation/state/province/county. I pray that political partisanship is on the backburner. I pray that Federal and state/province/county leaders and legislature representatives are working diligently, with appropriate rest breaks, to develop solutions to benefit most without hurting any.
LORD, I lift the fearful, vulnerable, suicidal, homeless, hopeless and despondent to YOU. I pray dear God that empower YOU each one to rest safely tonight. I pray that enable each one to get sufficient rest and wake up on Tuesday refreshed and hopeful.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Monday night.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

SFC John Lich, my wife is always riding me about taking breaks as I usually keep going until everything is finished to my satisfaction. Your quotation says it all for me.

I expect that that by HIS grace, the LORD has enabled you to rest peacefully in challenging times including illness, recovering from injury/surgery; taking care of ill children, spouse and aging parents; grief; and extended military duty John.
I pray that you and I are blessed by the LORD with eyes to see and ears to hear, and a soul sensitive to the Holy Spirit as HE empowers us to observe our family members, fellow workers, those who serve us and any we interact with safely. I pray that we each encourage those around us, prompt them to rest before they become exhausted, and pray for them as the LORD leads us, my brother-in-Christ SFC John Lich.

Good Morning COL.. "Rest Day" ......
We all know "There is no rest for the weary" .......
So, there is this....
“There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.” — Alan Cohen
I rest at night, if I take a nap during the day....I'm done for....!
I do not sit in my overstuffed leather chair for just that reason...I have never lasted more than 5 minutes without waking up 2 hours later in that chair.....! LOL
I guess you could say that i am going to have a restful day of playing on the property, going to the bank and grabbing a few more things from the shop to bring back to the home shop.
Good Morning to Bella and Mom....
Enjoy your day brother....Rock It
