I reached out to the vet group Butler heads and asked him to get a doc to explain how studies work before making uneducated statements. It was just an at info email address, so who knows if it will actually reach him. I agree with the other poster, Capt. Prickett. We doctors are ALWAYS looking back on what we do to see if we can improve things. We are CONTINUALLY thinking in terms of After Action Reports, so we can improve. Personally I have a very aggressive attitude toward looking at how my day to day activities impacts the health and well being of my patients and the outcomes we achieve together. If I did not, I would be a very poor doctor indeed.

If they were truly only using the drug as a last resort you would expect to see a higher death rate in those given it. I don't really think their complaint is valid. Most normal hospital systems are taking similar measures.

Personally I'm interested in the studies that have been done with ivermectin. Cheap, easily accessible drug that's produced in America and relatively safe. Would be very nice to have it pan out.
