Troops Wounded in Pensacola Shooting to Be Awarded Heroism Medals, Purple Hearts

I work a few miles down the road on NAS Pensacola. May just be a rumor but word I got was several aircrew instructors were outside the building PTing their students when the shooting occurred. They had a med kit with them and were pulling the wounded outside and providing first aid and CPR while the shooting was happening. Several of them were written up for NMC medals that have since been upgraded to Bronze Stars since the event was designated a terrorist attack. Not sure if they have been approved or not yet.
