How about 15 states that issue driver's licences - New York has a law that prohibits state Department of Motor Vehicles officials from providing data to agencies that enforce immigration law unless a judge orders it. New York cut off database access to at least three federal agencies when the law went into effect.

Seems such laws violate 8 U.S. Code § 1373 as such seems federal funding to these states could be denied.

Now let's see what the affected states and cities do.

I like how Mayor De Blasio was bellyaching that this is money used to fight criminals and terrorists, while the city is denying the ability of federal law enforcement to fight criminals and terrorists.

And while I fully agree that the 10th Amendment says that states and municipalities can do what they like, subject to the Supremacy Clause, that doesn't mean their actions don't have consequences.
And there is precedent for this kind of action. Back in the day, transportation and highway funds were withheld from states unless they conformed to the national speed limit (55) and later increased the legal age for alcohol to 21. If I recall correctly, that was a Democrat initiative.
