Army Requests Millions to Fix Homes for High-Ranking Officers in Washington DC Area

In the profession of arms rank always has its privileges. In the real world of finite budgets you take care of the troops first. Does the renovation of these mansions take anything away from taking care of the troops? If the answer is no then this is not a problem. If the answer is that money could be used to update a barracks that houses 200 single soldiers then the priority goes to the Joes. If both can be accomplished then do both.

This is why leaders always are the last to eat chow. This is why leaders are always the first to come in and the last to leave. You ARE privileged! And as such it is your responsibility to take care of your soldiers before you take care of yourself.

SGT Robert Wager - And most of the 'troops' have new or even in some cases upgraded housing. As for the current state of affairs with enlisted housing (outside of the barracks) it is the civilian contractors at fault for not following through with their contracted obligations. And we are how far into those contracts?
