Theodore's Anthem - Kerry Turner

As an old horn player, there is nothing that gets my blood moving quite like some phenomenal horn playing. The US Army Field Band horn section is the stuff of dreams, a rare gem.

Theodore's Anthem is a portrait of Theodore Roosevelt's colorful and inspiring life, reflecting his love of the American landscape, his determination to overcome his own physical challenges as a sickly boy, and culminating with the victorious charge of his Rough Riders at the Battle of San Juan Hill. The piece is a Fanfare and Chorale-Processional featuring the horn section, with rambunctious runs and soaring melodies, at times daring, but also a bit nostalgic.
