He never got over being beaten by Trump. It has nothing to do with ethics or principles. I regret ever having supporting this person in the past. Utah has legistration for recall on going, that would be the best thing.

Utah lawmaker files bill to allow recall of sitting US senator
The lawmaker, Rep. Tim Quinn, R-Heber City, told KSL shortly after the bill was made public that it’s not meant to target any specific sitting Utah senator.

SSG M Adkins You are right, at this time, only locally elected recalls. And that varies with each state.

It was that. Something that is seldom seen in DC.
No doubt the heat will be furious.

To bad Warren and Sanders do not have the personal courage to recuse themselves from voting against a political opponent.

Capt Gregory Prickett - If the Iowa Caucasus is anything about the status of the Democratic Party, we would be looking at five to nine years of a Pence presidency. You ok with that?

He put his Oath before God above his Party, which is no longer the norm. I don't know enough about Utah to speak to any political damage. He's safe from any primary for awhile. Much of it will rest on any future disclosures regarding the impeachment. Most anyone can figure out what that means. I was stirred by his speech, even though I'm not fond of him generally. His stock as an American went up a few points with me, even though I realize every politician is focused on the next election ultimately. They're all the rolling the dice, and only history will rule on their wagers.

Depends on whether Trump is reelected in 2020. If he is, you can bet this will come up in 2022.

1SG (Join to see) - Agreed without any doubt. Politics can be a never ending process of figuring out which side your bread is buttered on currently, and adjusting accordingly.
