Is the French army the last line of defence against jihadists in Sahel region?

Worked with the French Foreign Legion a little in the early days in Bosnia, they were quite intense, professional, and a little scary. They reminded me somehow of Mongols.

The French are not alone in operating in Sahel - which is why you saw it on the US Army Civil Affairs page. There are a lot of SOF operations in the area.

I had the opportunity to serve alongside a French Foreign Legion unit and was impressed by everything they did. They don't play around.
